Standard Front-Lit Channel Letters
These are the most traditional channel letters. They consist of individual letters or shapes with a translucent front face and internal illumination. The front face is typically acrylic, and the letters are lit from within using LED or neon lights. This type provides a classic and vibrant appearance.
Reverse (Halo) Lit Channel Letters
Also known as "backlit" or "halo" letters, these channel letters have opaque faces with translucent sides and back. The illumination is directed toward the back of the letters, creating a halo effect on the mounting surface. This type of lettering offers a more subtle and sophisticated look, especially at night.
Front and Back-Lit Channel Letters
These letters combine the features of both front-lit and reverse-lit channel letters. They have both translucent front faces and back panels, allowing light to emit from both directions. This creates a striking contrast between the front-lit and halo-lit portions of the letters.
Open-Face Channel Letters
Open-face channel letters have exposed neon tubing or LED lights, giving them a vintage, retro look. They lack the front acrylic face in traditional channel letters, making the illumination more visible. These letters are commonly used for businesses looking for a unique and eye-catching style.
Trim Cap Channel Letters
In these letters, the acrylic front face is connected to the return (sides) of the letter using a trim cap—a thin, flexible plastic strip that holds the face in place. Trim cap channel letters offer design flexibility and can create a clean and polished appearance.
Raceway-Mounted Channel Letters
Instead of individually mounting each letter, raceway-mounted channel letters are installed on a raceway. This long, narrow box contains the electrical components and wiring for multiple letters. This approach simplifies installation and reduces the number of wall penetrations
Dual-Illuminated Channel Letters
These letters combine different types of illumination within the same letter—usually front-lit and reverse-lit. This results in a dynamic appearance that contrasts the two lighting effects.
Combination Channel Letters
Combination channel letters can feature various illumination techniques and design elements. For instance, they might incorporate logos, different colors, or digital displays for a multifaceted appearance.
